Developing Rural Villages

The project aims to significantly increase the volume of crops grown by rural communities in kenya, improve the quality of agricultural produce, and provide access to new markets.

Problems & Solutions

Problems Unassembled nuts worsen the condition of the soil and increase erosion.
  • Poor farming practices, resulting in low yields, high costs, lack of competitiveness
  • Low awareness of modern agricultural practices in rural communities
  • Lack of access to seeds and fertilizers
  • Lack of means to protect crops from pests and diseases
  • Limited access to information on modern agricultural practices for local farmers
  • Lack of or insufficient infrastructure for processing and storage of agricultural products
  • Lack of opportunities to sell grown agricultural products
  • Lack of possibility to purchase necessary materials and equipment for more efficient farming
Solutions Unassembled nuts worsen the condition of the soil and increase erosion.
  • Provision of seed stock applicable to each specific region in Kenya
  • Supporting and developing agricultural practices to adapt crops to new climatic conditions
  • Consultations on modern agricultural practices, including the introduction and use of modern bio-organic fertilizers and plant protection products
  • Dissemination of informational brochures and leaflets among the youth of rural communities on modern agricultural practices in order to significantly improve the quality and increase the volume of grown agricultural products
  • Launch of the Grow a Farm project to significantly improve the quality and increase the volume of agricultural products grown
Grow a Farm Unassembled nuts worsen the condition of the soil and increase erosion.

THE GROW A FARM PROJECT OF THE WAY TO AFRICA CHARITABLE FOUNDATION AIMS TO:

  • Stimulating agricultural activities in rural communities to increase the volume of crops grown such as potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage, beans, corn, etc.
  • Counseling and sensitizing farmers on modern methods and technologies for growing crops, which will improve their quality
  • Increasing the volume and improving the quality of crops grown will create prerequisites for sales in new markets, including outside Kenya, which will contribute to the development of the rural economy and the well-being of the local population

TO ACHIEVE THESE GOALS, THE GROW THE FARM PROJECT PROVIDES FOR:

  • Introduction of modern and innovative technologies: provision of seed stock, introduction of drip irrigation systems, use of bio-organic fertilizers and plant protection products to increase cultivation efficiency and reduce ecological impact on the environment
  • Organization of mobile stations for primary processing of harvested crops and packing points: cleaning, washing, processing, packing and further shipment for processing or transportation to places of sale, is an important step for agricultural producers. These places can be used by all interested farmers both for the primary processing and packaging of agricultural products and to receive advice on the marketing of agricultural products
  • Systematic monitoring and evaluation of project results to identify successes, analyze problems and adjust the project to changing conditions and market needs
  • Further scaling up the project across Kenya, utilizing innovative technologies, experience and successes of the participating farmers among rural communities and farms
